SIMPLE PAST IRREGULAR VERBS
PROPÓSITO:
To improve students speaking, reading & writing comprehension abilities ( Mejorar las capacidades de comprensión oral, lectora y producción de textos).
COMPETENCIA:
Students can listen, read and understand written texts using English as a foreign language.(Escuchan, leen y comprenden textos orales y escritos en inglés como lengua extranjera)
CAPACIDAD:
Students manage vocabulary given in English. (Comprenden y manejan el vocabulario dado).
Students recognize main ideas, and make explanations about by basic structures given assertively. (Reconocen ideas principales y comentan sobre ellas o responden preguntas de manera asertiva).
Students recognize and use regular verb forms in the past tense with accuracy.Los estudiantes reconocen y usan formas regulares de los verbos en pasado con un mínimo de error.Los

SIMPLE PAST SONG
It's easy to remember it's the Simple
Past, and Everyone knows with regular verbs.
You just put "ED" at the end of the word.
But irregular verbs can be very hard.
Te only chance you have is to learn them by heart, so I FOUND,
YOU SOUGHT, I THREW, YOU CAUGHT, I SOLD, YOU BOUGHT,
YOU PAID, I ATE, YOU DRANK, I GREW, YOU SHRANK, YOU SWAM, I SANK .

When you need to make a question you use "DID" at the
Start, like: "Did you like this song about the Simple Past?".
It's used when something happened at a certain time .
Or for a longer period that stopped after a while.
It often goes with expressions like "yesterday " or "ago".
The brits say "Learnt' and "dreamt" but Americans don't...,so
YOU SLEPT, I WOKE, YOU HEARD, I SPOKE, I LENT, IT BENT,
IT BROKE, I WROTE, YOU DREW, I RODE, YOU FLEW, YOU STOOD, I RAN.

What is the past tense of irregular verbs?
A verb in which the past tense is not formed by adding the usual -ed ending. Examples of irregular verbs are sing (past tense sang); feel (felt), and go (went). (Compare regular verb.)
How do you know if a verb is irregular?
An English verb is irregular when it doesn't end in -ed in the simple past tense and past participle form.
EXAMPLES:
buy/buys - bought (Compar)
SIMPLE PRESENT
I buy some fruit every Wednesday. Sarah buys a cake every month.
SIMPLE PAST
I bought some fruit yesterday. Sarah bought a cake last month.
do/does - did ( Hacer)
SIMPLE PRESENT
You do Math homework on Tuesdays. Peter does Math homework on Thursdays.
SIMPLE PAST
You did Math homework last Tuesday. Peter did Math homework last Thursday.
am/are/is - BE ( Ser o estar)
SIMPLE PRESENT
I am a Peruvian student. She is my cousin Clara. We are at home now.
SIMPLE PAST
I was cooking with my mum yesterday. She was in Italy last year. We were in Spain a year ago.
Steven was in Barcelona, Spain two years ago. They were in London six months ago. You were in Lima last January.
