WEEK 32nd -PENPALS Colombian Corner – 4th, 5th



PROPÓSITO:To improve students speaking, reading & writing comprehension abilities (Mejorar las capacidades de comprensión oral, lectora y producción de textos).

COMPETENCIA: Students can listen, read, and understand written texts using English as a foreign language. (Escuchan, leen y comprenden textos orales y escritos en inglés como lengua extranjera)

CAPACIDADES:

1.Students manage vocabulary given in English to talk about our personal activities. (Comprenden y manejan el vocabulario dado y se expresan acerca de sus propias actividades habituales y acerca de sus gustos o preferencias).

2.Students recognize main ideas and make explanations about by basic structures given assertively. (Reconocen ideas principales y comentan sobre ellas o responden preguntas de manera asertiva).

3.Students recognize and use simple present tense and Simple past, (regular and irregular verb forms) with. Comparan entre las acciones del presente y el pasado; las acciones en progreso y las habituales o rutinarias.


TONY VASQUEZ – 16 years old – Colombian student

Hi, everyone. I am Tony Vasquez. I'm 16 years old. I 'm from Bogota, Colombia. I normally start classes at 9 am in the mornings by zoom or Meet. Usually, I send my homework by mail or WhatsApp. 
I was born in a cold morning of Christmas, so mom always says I 'm Jesus' brother in some way. I like playing soccer and baseball. I used to play in a local teen club, but now we cannot play because of the sanitarian emergency. I think, perhaps we will play in 2022.
I love reading detectives or mystery good stories. My favorite author is Agatha Christie. She was a very famous British writer.


Sometimes, I hate tidying my room, but I always try to do my best to help at home. Instead, I enjoy biking around the neighborhood. I often do it early in the morning. I like biking with mom and dad. I’m the only child, but I expect I'll have a brother or sister someday in the future.
Isolation at home was hard and boring sometimes. I have to be patient and tolerant. I love chatting with friends. So, we are in touch very often after I have finished homework or my duties at home. Some classmates abandoned classes. Some other students are coming back. It makes me happier and more enthusiastic now.

Today is Monday. I am having Math classes now. I love Math 'cause is challenging. I want to be an engineer or an astronaut someday in the future.
I hope all this situation may finish very soon.



You can write to me anytime. I like making new friends around the world. You can write to me in English, Spanish or French. I love learning foreign languages, too.
